Old Carey will play their final pre-season game this weekend against Lyndale SC away from home.
It will prove a tough assignment for Bill Kotsabouikis’ men, as they are facing a side who topped Provisional 2 S/E in 2010, and are now plying their trade in Provisional 1 S/E.
Lyndale are a familiar opponent for Old Carey, having played them twice during the regular season last year. Old Carey were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline on both occasions, however were unlucky not to get something out of the reverse fixture, conceding a late goal after being reduced to 10 men.
This weekends fixture will see the debut of “Monti” for Old Carey, who will be looking to impress in his first outing and push for a starting role come round 1. There will also hopefully be a return of first team players “MJ” and Stanner, the latter returning home from a stint in Canada. Stanner, the clubs all time leading goalscorer, will be a welcome addition to the OCSC squad who won 3-2 against Meadow Park on the weekend.
