Match Preview: Caulfield Cobras v Old Carey

April 17, 2010  |  by

Old Carey will be hoping to collect their first points of the season tomorrow when they travel to Victory Park in their Round 2 clash against Caulfield Cobras.

After suffering a 0-2 loss to Old Brighton, the OCSC will be determined to build on their encouraging second half last week and put in a complete performance away from home.

It promises to be a tough game however, with Caulfield expected to build on their promising 2009 season. Caulfield fought back a goal down to draw 2-2 in their first round clash at newly promoted Bayside.

Senior coach Alex De La Torre hopes that the team can ‘build on last weeks performance’.  He also is of the belief that his players are looking forward to the challenge in a game few expect Old Carey to get a result. The club however are very much focused on themselves and have an unquestioned belief in both their quality and style of game which, they believe, could reap successes similar to that enjoyed in 2008.

Old Carey should also be buoyed that, despite their dissapointing 2009 season, they still managed to beat Caulfield 2-1 at home last season with Theo Petidis scoring what was perhaps goal of the season to hand Old Carey the 3 points.  The teams have met on 4 previous occasions, with both teams winning 2 games a piece.  Strangely enough however, no Old Carey player involved in the senior squad tomorrow has scored against Caulfield.  We certainly hope that, come 5pm tomorrow, it would be a much different story.
